The stock rockers on all of our engines have gone through a evolution of materials and design. The most common original rocker assembly is often called the 'pressed' or 'stamped' version. These were replaced for heavy duty applications with the 'forged' type. The current technology now has a universal replacement 'cast' type. The sintered steel rocker features an improved shape where the rocker meets the valve. The result is quieter running and less valve stem wear. This complete, rebuilt assembly includes everything and is a direct bolt-on. A worn rocker assembly will result in not only lower oil pressure for the crankshaft, etc. but will adversely effect engine performance as valve timing will be compromised! Will fit the Sprite , Mg Midget , and Morris Minor .

Question:
I am rebuilding a 947cc Bugeye. New larger 1098 head with port/larger valves...etc. Will be bored to about 1000 CC, Mini Cooper street cam and New Ignition system. Head builder said that 1.3 Rockers are good enough. I see that these HEAD04 assembly looks like it will do what I need. Yes? Rockers are Sintered and reshaped from stock?
Answer:
The sintered type rockers were used on the last Minis and Mini Coopers. Here's a link:

They wear better than the stamped or cast factory types that the Sprites and Midgets originally used.

Question:
What is the Lift Ratio for these stock rockers? 1.3 to 1? Will be using it on slightly modified 947/1000 with 1098 head. Was told that 1.5 does not do much for small bore and just increases wear.
Answer:
Yes, 1.3 lift on these. And that's correct, 1.3 is optimum for small bores.

Question:
Hi, I am working on a cylinder head refurbish project on my '79 998 Austin Mini and need some advice. Upon disassembly I noticed that all the pushrods have a coating of corrosion along shafts. I also see a bit of corrosion on threads of the tappet adjusting nuts. The rocker seems in good condition. So I think I probably should replace the corroded items. What I'm looking for advice on is replacement. Can I just replace both sets of old parts with new (adjustment screws and pushrods)? Would I need to know which cam matches or cam followers that are already installed? Or can I just install both sets of new parts and call it good? Thanks so much for your help with this question, it is greatly appreciated!
Answer:
Hi,
We list the adjusting screws  AEG167  and nuts  FNN605.  Push rods are 2A14.
Should work with any cam.
Hope that helps,
 Mini Mania
