ADAPTER NUMBER PLATE LAMP-TO LOWER FOR AMERICAN PLATE

MKI and II Mini sedans are well known for their hinged rear license plate hangers, and these are now readily available new. The trouble with this setup is that it is not made to fit North American plates which are taller; it has to either cover the lamp or block the hinge. This adapter was made exclusively for export cars, and what it does is lower the lamp housing below the taller plate, and the whole assembly still swings down when you open the boot. Mini Mania is producing a limited number of reproductions, formed of stainless steel. To use this bracket you will need a small flat piece of sheet metal or thin aluminum stock, 4" x 2 1/2". Make 4 holes matching the ones in the number plate and the bracket. Mount with 4 small screws and nuts and attach the light to the adapter. Remember the loctite or lockwashers -- Mini's are known to vibrate a bit once in a while!
