HA HA, Rubbing it in - I did mention you have to break the siphon. I'm guessing that you'll remember that the next time you change the filter.

Thank you. I did get the filter at NAPA. Thanks for that. Also learned pretty quick that I had to remove the flex hose from the tank when it became obvious the fuel wasn't stopping

Hey Charger, you can buy a filter at your local Autoparts store. Here is a CarQuest gas filter # RFI - R86481. The English ones are 3 to 4 times the cost of an American, and it still is made in Taiwan. You will need to get 2 "O" rings from your hardware store. Dimensions are 1/16" thick, 5/16 ID - 7/16 OD. This is for the gas filter with the union screwed to the fuel filter. Don't forget to break the siphon - the hose connection above the filter.

If the person who "rebuilt your car to a more modern spec" did their job right, there won't be any trace of any numbers other than the pop-riveted VIN plate.  If there were, then Customs may have looked puzzled and impounded the car when it was imported.

Additionally, while a '92/3 car may be legal to import now (except CA) if a naughty person in the past had merely swapped the tag over to make it look older to bypass the 25 year import rule it is no more more legal now than it was at the time - it is still VIN fraud and the owner of such an unfortunate car will always be capable of losing it if the authorities investigate.

Hi Folks. 

New to to the forum and this is my first time posting.  I have a 92-93 Mark 6 and I am needling to find the chassis number. My car was imported using an old VIN so I can't go by the tag. Is there anywhere else on the chassis where the original VIN may be?  Need to know to assure I order the correct parts. Currently want to get tune up components and I see there are two fuel filter options available based on the Chassis number
