MattS, best of luck in finding someone that can help you get in touch! I have been in your position. It's at least worth a shot. And if not for sale now, at least they have your info for the future and know you are interested in case their circumstances change!

ve9aa, thanks for replying. As you may have guessed, I am aware that there are other Jet Black Minis but, in case I wasn't clear enough, I'm looking trying to track down this actual car/get in touch with the owner to ask if they would be willing to sell.
Your opinion on the 'creepiness' of the post is duly noted. Obviously, I was hoping for the replies to be a bit more constructive than just giving opinions on the content and I am aware that not everyone will be happy to be contacted in this way. On the other hand, the car holds some sentimental value and if you never ask out, you will never know.
To return to the matter at hand, if anyone has the ability to let the owner know that I would like to put my hand up for contact if they are thinking of selling the car, that would be amazing and I would be massively grateful!

Don't take this the wrong way, but wouldn't it be a whole lot easier to just buy a Jet Black that's actually for sale or make your own Jet Black clone (there's not a whole lot special about them), rather than creep on some guy who just bought it , doesn't have it for sale and doesn't know you?
In some states, the shotgun would come out first before the questions start getting asked
(ok, a little extreme,). but if I didn't have my car for sale and started getting excitable emails, phone calls, or a knock on my door from someone wanting to buy my car, I'd have to send them packin')
Just sayin'
That post of yours weirded me out.

Hi all,
This is my first post in the forum and I hope this is ok to post - I have joined for a specific mission!
I am trying to track down a 1988 Mini Jet Black which was registered in the UK originally but was exported by mountainminis in 2020 to a buyer in Seattle. I have been told that it originally touched down in Seattle, but that buyer has since sold it to a person who possibly lives in Idaho.
The chassis number is SAXXL2S1020375483 and it was registered with the number plate E865LWS before being exported.
Below is a link to the copy of the UK advert and I have attached some pictures to this post in case anyone recognises it and can help put me in touch with either the person who bought it from the UK or currently owns it (possibly in Idaho).

The wheels were changed and front spotlights added at some point, presumably just before it left the UK for the USA. The most distinctive part inside is the change to a wood effect dash and hideous pink meter displays!
Thanks for reading! I hope someone can help!
