Thank you all for your honest (and non judgemental) advice, this forum is so nice.

Totally understand the resale value impact, but I am not building the car to sell it, its a labour of love and something I want to keep for a long long time.

I think I am going to purchase the cheap carpet set ($75) just to see if I like it.
If I don't like it, I think I will go with something like Autumn Leaf as I really don't like Biscuit.

I for one think the classic Mini was always some kind of art car, there for whoever wants to make it there own. If your comfortable with your choice of colors, do it and enjoy the heck out of it. If you decide to sale one day, the next owner can change colors once there name is on the title. Example; I went with GT stripes in stead of the typical JCW stripes, an R-M Carizzma color, Indigo on the bottom, and a really bright pearl white for the roof. Turns out, lots more people like it as much as I do.

IF IT WEREN'T FOR PHYSICS AND LAW ENFORCEMENT, I'D BE UNSTOPPABLE

As someone said above it's your car do with it as you please.  Especially if you are not going to sell it with a green exterior and red interior as that could be a deal breaker.   If you like the red please consider painting the exterior of the car red, tan, black or something that will match the red interior.  I have had my car for 43 years and most stuff I have done has molded into other stuff I have done. As for going to shows, I always seem to win 2nd place trophies as most people like the original cars which seem to win 1st place.  But I like my car the way I have set it up, remember it's my car I do with it as I please.  Please let us know what you decide.

I agree with Dan.  I have a red car with a tan interior and I find it works well.  Black would also work (imo)

In your case, tan, light green, maybe even black...
No way I would put a red interior in a green car. Garish is correct. (again, imo)

But then, you're not me and vice versa.  If you like it and are not considering resale value in 5, 10 or 20 yrs then goforit.

Just realize that most people will find it......hmmm, fairly odd and not complimentary ! (and thus, lower resale.)

In a similar situation, I have a red Harley but with lotsa black on it.  Most people hate it, and say I should paint the front fairing to match the red on the bike but I like it and don't give a hoot about resale.

+1 to what Michael said. It is your choice.

To me, red/green would look too garish. Tan (or biscuit?) is more subtle and sophisticated. With a paint colour, you have to consider the blend of pigments that went into it. (For example,a really good red could actually have a bit of blue in it, some black and who knows what else.) You should consider what pigments went into your almond green - there may be some that go well with the tan/biscuit but could, under certain light conditions, clash with a ed interior.

It really is whatever you prefer.

If it were me, I would stay away from a green car with red interior.    That only looks ok in December.    Just like Iris Blue to me only looks good around Easter.

I have a GN-37 Almond Green Mk1 that has an extremely tired and ill-fitting and non standard biscuit interior.

I have always wanted red interior, but what is the general consensus on this choice?

I ask as I can find no example of an Almond Green Mini with a Tartan red interior anywhere. The closest I get is this on a Triumph which I think looks good, but would it look good on a Mk1 ? Does anyone have real life example pictures?

Green/Red

Honesty is the best policy please.
