The last time I checked, admittedly in a Mini not one of the fatty MINIs, the brakes didn't "stop too fast" on their own. It required the application of the right foot the pressure of which could be modulated by the driver.

I have the Wilwood BBK on my R56 with NM RSE05 wheels. They are 17x7.5 with a et45 offset. The offset is also an important factor determining fitment. I track the car and can tell you the 6-piston calipers on the front are overkill for the street (but, yes, look very cool). You need to be careful you don't stop too quickly when there are cars following you. If they can't stop as quickly as you...well, you get the picture.

that being said this website was designed for both types of minis and I have gotten a lot of good information from this forum (not to mention front page of forum is littered with posts of both types) and parts from this site. I use this and other forums because I like the vast amount of anecdotal information that these forums contain. 

I've looked at that and understand measuring for it, I was just hoping to get some anecdotal evidence of people who have done it and see if they've run into issues

The only way to know if the big brake kits will fit under your wheels is to measure the wheels using the brake clearance template. There should be links to the brake clearance template on each of the wilwood brake kit product pages on our site.

I have a Brembo BBK on my R53, and it clears my 17" MINILITE wheels as well as my Enkei PF01 track wheels, but just barely! I think Wilwoods aren't quite as thick but don't know for sure...

The brakes on my R53 are wearing out, and I've been debating a "big brake" upgrade. I like that Wilwood seems to have a matched front & rear set of kits. They also look decent, but that doesn't mean much.

I have OZ "Alleggerita" rims, so I'm pretty sure the upgrade kits would fit, but I'm looking for any others experiences with these brakes; any issues with fitment? Performance? Recommendations or kudos? Warnings?

I'm looking at doing a brake upgrade to wilwood BBK as right now I am running oem calipers and powerstop drilled/slotted with ceramic pads. My current braking is fine but I mainly want the look of a BBK. I was looking at the 6 piston BBK that wilwood sells but it says it "may" fit with 17in rims. On here with the 4 piston brake kit is says that you might need a spacer. Does anyone have experience with these? will the stock 17x7 mini rim fit over the 6 piston BBK? TIA!
