Have you tried rotating the crankshaft at the crank pulley bolt with the spark plugs removed and the car in neutral?
(only rotate in the clockwise direction)

I tried to change the timing chain on my r53 2003 mini cooper s. I had seen a video online where if you put the car in top gear and put a screwdriver in driver side brake disc and turn the other side wheel it would turn the engine over to line up the engine.
However I did a mistake where I put the car in 1st gear and turned the crank pulley. I turned it around 90 degrees and heard a click and now my crank wont move.
Im hoping i have only skipped teeth on timing and then can fix it by changing chain and sprockets. However not sure what damage I might have done.
Any help would be appreciated
