It's an HIF44 from a late 70's Volvo 240, maybe just Canadian spec? The US spec may have used Stromberg.

Looks like its got an internal float bowl, so NOT an HS, where the S stands for 'separate' as in separate float bowl.

it's an HS internal float carb.  looks like a HS 6.

Hello,
My basket case project came with a few engines, transmissions and carburetors.
Having rebuilt and installed the 1275cc 12H engine, I selected the larger HIF carb to match the engine.
However, this carburetor is different from the HIF44 carbs I'm seeing in the service manuals and all pictures on the web.
Differences: throttle and choke mechanism are on the opposite side, there is a large vacuum port at the back of the carb right next to the manifold, there is no overflow port over the feed pipe, the feed pipe is on the driver's side.
Does anyone know what model carb this is and what model it came from?
