Brad, was it my Moke or my Red mini coupe? I took the coupe to MMW at Mt Diablo, a few years ago now!

I can relate to the cheap rubbers. Got a set also several years back. Had to crank the Hi-lo's up all the way just to get by till some proper ones came.

Every time I see your screen name I recall the photos you posted of your moke in the back of your full size pickup.

I made one twenty years ago but forgot how to do it.
I appreciate the fast response. 
I bought some cheap cones for my pickup but the durometer was too soft & the cones are now squashed.
Just bought some quality ones from our host, going to replace them in the spring.

Plans? Metal pipe, threaded rod, 3 nuts and a couple of washers. I used a 10" piece of 1/2" gal pipe. Two washers on each end, the bottom one needs to large/thick enough to span the opening in the body with another smaller one to spread the load. Then two washers at the top under to single nut to make it easier to turn the nut. Then two nuts locked together on the top end. You hold the double nuts to stop the rod from turning while you crank down the single nut.

If it has been a while the threads might be gunked up/rusted so it's nice to have a tap to clean them out first.
