This^^^

There is an internal baffle that limits how far you can see down inside of the tank from left to right (front to back)

Drop the panel off the bottom and take a look, tank fills most of the lh pontoon.

It has a gas tank cover on it, it smells like gas, it has a float and is connected to the fuel pump, so yes.

I know my tape measure works. LOL

I will just put gas in it tomorrow and see how many gallons it takes to fill it up.
I guess I could remove the panel under the gas tank and look for myself.

Will post an update sometime tomorrow.

Thanks

I think your tape measure is broken... or you somehow got short changed.

I have 2 x 70s Moke tanks on the shelf.  They are both (externally) 27" X 8 3/4" X 10" (LXWXH).  The width is a bit of an estimate as they taper top to bottom so I measured the width about half way up.

According to my manual they should hold 7 1/2 US gallons...

Cheers, Ian

Hello. I have a 1972 Leyland Mini Moke converted to left hand drive. I have owned my moke for a few months. I am in California. I don't drive it that much and noticed the gas gauge was on empty. I have only driven about 40 miles since I bought it. I know I filled up the tank. I looked inside the gas tank and it was almost empty. I measured the gas tank the best I could. I t measures 8-1/2" long, 7 Inches wide, and 9-1/4 deep. Which comes out to to 2-1/2 gallons. What the hell. Who puts a gas tank this size in a moke. Anyone ever heard of a tank this size?

I haven't put more gas in it yet, I am dumb founded. Does the tank have walls inside of it to divide it for any reason and it's bigger than I think? Anyone have any opinions on this?
