Yes, the first thing I would try is to bleed the clutch hydraulic system. That is the simplest and least expensive thing to try.

Keep in mind, the slave needs to be removed and fully compressed when bleeding, then bleed again with the slave installed normally.

Hi,
I have a 2011 Mini Cooper coupe base model w/6spd manual transmission. I just replaced the clutch and clutch release bearing with a stock replacement. The clutch pedal now travels freely with no effort to press it at all, and easily goes all the way to floor. While running, I obviously can’t change gears... and with the engine off, I can change the gears. I did not replace the slave cylinder but did remover it to get out the transmission. Do I need to bleed the system or is there some other issue that I’m missing? Thanks for any help.
Jake
