Sounds like a good plan.

We have not tried nor have heard of anyone trying the 225/55R18 on the F60 Countryman. I would crawl under the F60 with the front wheels at full lock and see how much clearance you currently have.

Here is the size comparison:

225/50 R18 vs 225/55 R18

diameter 26.9 vs 27.7

width  8.9 vs 8.9

sidewall  4.4 vs 4.9

circum  84.3 vs 87.1

revs /mile   751 vs 727

The main difference is the additional 0.8" height.
Thanks Kenat,

Yeah I used the tiresize calculator and that extra 0.4" in radius (0.8" in diameter) could be pushing it real close. I wasn't able to get a ruler/caliper in there but my finger was able to touch both the wheel well and tire at the same time. I think I'll be going 235/50R18 until getting a lift kit.
