Thanks for your reply. I had to loosen the latch screws slightly which allowed me to finally get it closed. As you suggested, I'm leaving it sit for awhile to compress the seal.

After replacement, mine was difficult to close as well. Struggled to get it shut and left it alone. It'll compress. If I recall, there are two types; one a thick bulb seal, the other a thinner blade type seal.

I just replaced the seal in my boot lid and now I cannot get the boot to close. It's like the seal is too thick. Is there a "trick" to getting the boot to close now?
