Timely topic!  I too am wrestling with how the linkage is properly installed.

The pictures sure help.    I believe I now have it correct.

My car is a 66S which has the black dual air filter.
Am I correct that only 2 springs are used?
The pipe coming off the air filter goes between the 2 springs.

Also how/where is the choke cable attached?

See if this helps "where the throttle cable fits" your center spring fits on the cable stop-accel has a washer and a cotter pin to hold it on.  The carbs have throttle adjustment where the spring attaches.

Paul, looking at your picture note the bridge piece for the heat shield - the part at the bottom of your picture that connects the two pieces of your heat shield together.  Also note the three holes drilled into it.  The three springs connect to these holes using the longer straight part of the spring.  The other ends connect with the outer two going to the throttle return of the carbs so they are held closed and the center spring connecting to the throttle cable area.

Hello,

Please forgive me (again) for I haven't touched my Mini in 21 years and now it's time to get it back on the road. ( The only thing I have to thank this virus for.)
So, U have a dual SU set up with a Heat Shield, pictured here. Where do the Springs attach?  ( I forget )

BTW, I do try and research all question BEFORE I ask this forum! I just can't seem to find this one.

Again, Thanks in advance.
