I've filled up at countless stations over the course of the nearly 2 years of ownership of the car, and its always had this issue as far as I know.
I've eliminated the fuel quality as a problem, and it doesn't seem to be ignition either.
I read that the EGR valve can cause problems like I'm experiencing, so I'm going to prop the car up on jackstands and check out everything I can think that may be broken and causing an issue.
I'm quite positive the car is experiencing detonation, as it fits the description too well to be something else. Or I could be totally wrong. I got a video, but i still need to find if you can hear it well enough.

A wild guess but worth eliminating.

I did the timing chain, tensioner, guides, supercharger oil service, and changed various gaskets that I had access to about two months ago (no problems) but this didn't change the crackling sound whatsoever. It still occurs under the same conditions as stated before.
I've searched endless forums and It seems I'm the only one with this issue...

Sound is very subjective so it's difficult to accurately know what you are hearing....

Hello to all the wise folks who may be able to shed some light to my question.
Why is there a “crackling” sound coming from the intake when the car is under heavy acceleration?
The sound is audible from inside the cabin and only happens when you really get on the gas. It isn’t completely consistent, as it is only on for a bit during the mid-high rev range (but isn’t always consistent in this range either) nor does it happen every time I do a pull
The sound could only be described as crackling, but its not apparent where the sound is coming from, because it’s only audible when I’m accelerating hard.
It doesn’t seem to impede performance, nor did it just start abruptly. I remember it happening pretty much ever since I got the car, but wasn't very noticeable until I installed a cold air intake.
Thanks -Kaelan Frost
