I can assure everyone that Mike's baskets were hand made local to me by English craftsmen using Somerset willow, and are not Chinese knockoffs.

I haven't had any made for many years as they costs involved (manufacture and shipping) were getting difficult to justify when people wouldn't pay the price required for the quality involved...

Really poor form to do this to a guy just trying to sell something.  That's permanently scared me from selling stuff here.

I must disagree Big Al...   If those are the ones that also fit under the back of the early Countryman or the various Woody wagon back seats, $250 is not bad for a pair.   I'm convinced that having the "BMC Picnic Basket Option' made all the difference for my Friend Dwight when his 62 Woody that I mostly built took the "Best OF Show" at the Portland All British Field meet a couple of years ago!   Yes it's a stunning car with a Supercharged 1380, and many custom touches, but looks painfully stock, and the little picnic basket about made the judges cry!!

I have a pair of the wicker baskets made to fit under the rear seats of classic minis that I bought from Alex probably 10 years ago or so. The baskets were originally sold by dealers as an option when these cars were new. They are made with a taper to fit especially under the rear seats of minis. (picture attached)I sold the mini that I used them in, so I no longer have a use for them right now. The mini I still have is a Rover Mini Cabriolet which has a speaker board under the seat so it won't fit. However, knowing me, I will some day own another classic mini that I COULD use them in. As far as I know these are rare if not non existent anymore. These are literally like new. I put them under the seat and that is where they stayed for years...unmolested. They sort of "finish off a mini". I was told that they were worth $250 for the pair...plus shipping.  So, if anyone is interested, let me know before I change my mind. I figure that I would put them out there and see if there is interest. If not, I will keep them for the next classic mini I buy.

Contact me via email by going to my profile if interested.
