EDIT 02/25/21: Not to put too fine a point on it, but the best price on the Yokohamas to date is $69.50 ea. plus $43.00 per tire shipping to the west coast. It's a shame to pay more than 50% of the cost of the tires for shipping, but it's still the best deal I've found. The tires arrived 10 days after ordering. This is my 3rd set of 032s. I love these tires.

I bought Falkens iirc the model might've been FK07's (does that sound right?). Very pleased with them. That was back in/around 2010...still running the same tires, but I only put on a few hundred kms/year nowadays and it hasn't turned a wheel in nearly 3 yrs (long story)...
I suppose eventually I'll need to get out the super glue ! (LOL)
~ 30 minutes in a Mini is more therapeutic than 3 sessions @ the shrink. ~

I wouldn't be afraid to drive em over a hundred, for short distances. I have recently run my 15 year old, cracked sidewall, leaky, Goodyear Eagles up to 130, and not a DOT tire. If you get a flat or blow out, when you stop spinning, put on the spare.. Doubt the golf tires have any grip at all tho.

Regarding this thread about golf cart tires, I bought a set a couple of years ago and ran them for less that a week. Although they look great, they're totally unsuited for driving of any kind. MiniMania calls them "a little squirrelly." That's putting it mildly. It was like driving on black ice with a 40 mph crosswind. Goodyear Double Eagles

Done that too, with scars to prove it. Same bike at Bonneville went 211. Turbo Kawasaki 1140. All gone now; dropped at El Mirage going 186 on the dirt mile; shut down the course for an hour, while they picked up the pieces and filled in the holes. What else ya got?

The Bugatti Veyron tires will last 15 minutes at its top speed of 255mph. Not to worry though as the car will run out of fuel in 10 minutes. With manufacturing inconsistencies I would strongly reconsider using these tires for extended street use. If you’re doing car shows and you like the look then carry an extra set and change them at the show, otherwise run tires with an “H” rating or better. My two cents.

Everything in life is a gamble; some of us are afraid to get out of bed in the morning, some will sky dive without parachutes. suit your own risk tolerance and let others suit theirs. There is more to life than being "safe". I and some of my friends dive and spear fish with white sharks around us at Guadalupe Island. My fellow club member just shot a new world record Yellowtail, right next to a big "eater". A lot of folks would think that is crazy too; they watch too many Jaws movies. I think some of you are being just a bit melodramatic. Most blow outs are no big deal; you stop and fix it. When testing, you can even reduce the risk, by monitoring pressures and heat buildup. Response to this thread sounds just like an old one I posted a few years back on welding gas tanks, with a half gallon of gas still in them. If you know how to do it, it's simple; if you don't, You might not want to try it. I learned from experimenting, and yet here I am; 65 years old, and haven't killed anybody yet. Come spend a few days with me though; a couple of you might have a heart attack!
Minimike, do you drive a Mini? don't you know they are dangerous?
Scott, just a heads up on wheel choice; a few of the older designs, like Mambas, will not fit over my brake setup(7.9s).

Okay,
Here is what I need to get testing done on these tires. I need a set (4) wheels (10 X 6) with an ET: -7 spacing . That will give plenty of clearance on the inner part of the wheel and tire for Steve's car. I am not pickey about style or general condition. They need to be round and true and have no cracks. LIGHT curb rash is okay. Steve will be testing these at a race track near his house. Please contact me and tell me what you have and how much you want. [email protected]

There's a lot less risk in running the DOT rated golf cart tires IMHO than old expired cracked tires.
I go back to the time I tow dollied my Mini cross country with the rear axle rolling on old, hard Falken tires that had more than 50% tread on them. On the hot Nebraska tarmac, the left rear decided to detread, and proceeded to whip a 20 pound flap of steel braided rubber around at 65mph, more than easily ripping off my OZ wheel arch, deluxe chrome trim strip and steel inner arch plate and flinging them down the highway. I was glad I wasn't driving the car, but the time and cost to buy and wait for a new arch to arrive from Australia, paint it, make a new inner arch plate, new trim strip, new tire and fit all of that was not worth the risk I took.

Mike, You seem to forget, you forget about all the poeple that have turned their series A engines into grenades trying to supercharge, turbocharge, design a new head and so on. All quite dangerous but all things that a lot have benefited from. Thank god that they never exibited the Osterich like tendencies that you do. Yes, Safety is a big concern and testing should be done around as few people as possible. You can only improve on things if you are willing to take the chance and try new things, even risky ones. So Mike, be a pioneer not an Oserich. Learn how to be positive, not negative. Your points about safety were well taken but the rest of your writing is, what word did you use...oh yes, cr*p.

Once you crash, expect your insurance company to void your claim, and anyone else injured will surely attach your salary and home for the rest of your living kin's lives. you may not give a crap if you die, but think of the bigger picture. Aside from injury to others, how about spending the rest of your days in a diaper in a wheel chair or bed and having a stranger wipe your butt because you had to have golf cart tires on your mini!!

I might just take you up on that if I can find a beat up set of 10X6 wheels, since my car won't be on the road anytime to soon. Wouldn't want to ruin my new wheels if they don't live up to expectations. I'm also right there with you....55 been most places and done most everything that I ever wanted to. Life is too short not to push the envelope. Like Vin Diesel said in xXx just before he got yanked out the back of the plane...."I live for this S***". Or like doing aerobatics at ground level like I used to do in my Pitts. You never learn anything just sitting around on your ass.
Steve what offset do you want ? I have one on ET: -7 right now and the others are unmounted. I will be buying another set of less that cherry wheels to mount the tires on and send to you.

No, I am not nuts, but maybe close.... You want to live forever? I'm 65, been everywhere; done everything. I will be happy to test those tires on the track, with my VTEC car; 20 minute sessions, Fry em off the corners in 110 degree F desert ambient temps, and up to 120MPH plus on the straights, if you send a mounted set. they will probably slide all over the place, but if they stick ok, might be a nice Mini tire.
